Everything on internet is either real or spammers.

Reply:I think it creates a very genuine sense of community, much like eBay does or even MySpace to a certain extent. I mean this counts for people who use it regularly and almost get to know each other in this virtual world.





I genuinely care about helping people who post sincere-sounding questions on here, and no I've never met up in person with anyone from Answers. Yet!

Reply:No, I don't feel any sense of community at all. And that's what I like about it.
Reply:I haven't met any of these people in person but I have talked with them online via IM. I genuinely care about people. I try not to be rude when people ask silly questions. I will give them silly answers or tell them that if they are bored they should read a book then come back with more interesting questions.I like to think that I have made a difference in the world.Love Maeve.

The whole thing is rooted in cyberspace to begin with. Like any virtual existence, it's only as real as the people who frequent it.





The people here are real enough but... I don't come here to make new friends. I come to ask and answer questions. It's both a form of entertainment and a way to extend my knowledge. Sometimes I come away knowing something new... other times, I just come away mildly entertained.





That's real enough for me.
Reply:I help people anyway,even though I know most people would be too suspicious %26amp; paranoid to meet in real life-thats one of the reasons I suggested a yearly group meeting of yahoo answers participants-which now is taking place ,at least in the USA.

an old saying.. it's nice to be nice..





I haven't met anyone off here.. although I know some friends from the net (from gaming etc) for hhmm 6-8 years etc.. that I've never met.. but will help them out if they had pc problems or whatever, as they are good friends.





I have met people off the net, but i know them really well before hand , say 3+ months AND in a very public place. So i can make my excuses and leave if need be.
