Christianity vs Islam.. why this enmity in this online community?

ive been in this yahoo answers thing fer sumtime now.. and i cant understand why two religions have to be so cruelly pitted against each other?.. are'nt we all children's of god?? cant we have discussions without rage and anger in them?

Reply:I am a Christian, and I feel no hostility toward the Muslims. However, the Bible seems to provide a response to this question, so in a way, God is talking here.

It is believed that the Arabs are the children of Ishmael, so that may be it - considering that Christians consider themselves spiritual descendants of Abraham.
Reply:Personally I'd say it has a great deal to do with simple minds and political pressures. Governments and religious leaders working to alienate the population that is currently on their "hit-list" either politically or culturally.





Secondly it's so very many small minds who follow the dogma of their childhood brainwashing. Those who don't have the ability to think for themselves and be open and more embracing of the world and those around them who are simply different.
Reply:Yes we should respect each other's beliefs even if we don't agree with them.This is a place for people with honest questions to ask and they should be able to expect honest answers, not all the rude, ill-informed back-chat that is on here so much of the time. We shouldn't go against other people belief/religion. Both religion teach us to do good.


If one of the devotee of a religion hatre other religion, two possibility: either the religion is misleading or that devotee just "wearing" the name of the religion but not practice it.


All human is same, that is subject to decay.


They should project loving-kindness to each one person who live in the same world, regardless where they are born, poor, rich, beauty...


Then the world will be peace.

Why is there even one muslim dumb enough to question why non-muslims would object to the religious idealogy behind most war today and since the disease of Islam was blighted on man.

enmity is not from muslim side atleast. Why would muslims bash Jesus and bible, when muslims believe in Jesus and accept his gospel as word from God. stay more, and you will notice people attacking islam and quran. no muslim will ever attack bible or Jesus. by proving jesus is not God from bible, is not considered as bashing or attacking. because its our right to look at previous scriptures, because we believe in it, and to let people know the truth. I DONT SEE ANY ENMITY BETWEEN CHRISTIANS AND MUSLIMS HERE. yes there are certain people who attack bible and quran both, and these are black sheeps. and i am against these both.





why would muslims show enmity to christians when quran says that they are nearest to us. ....


"...nearest among them in love to the believers wilt thou find those who say, "We are Christians": because amongst these are men devoted to learning and men who have renounced the world, and they are not arrogant." Quran (5: 82)

Reply:At least as far as Christians go (I'm speaking as an evangelical minister), too many Christians think that the evidence for their beliefs should trump their love for others. Other people can believe totally that what we say about Jesus and the Bible is true, but if they don't see His love in our lives, nothing else will matter. Paul put it very well in 1 Corinthians 13 that without love, we are absolutely nothing. We need to remember that our identity as Christians has nothing to do with us and everything to do with Jesus.
