Has Yahoo! Answers been successful in creating a joyful community?

My personal answer is YES. Dear folks, what are your personal views? If your answer is NO, then could you please give a suggestion or two (or more), so that the Answers team AND THE participating folk, can help remove deficiencies, if any, as viewed by anyone AND THUS CREATE A COMPLETELY JOYFUL COMMUNITY. Suggestions to deficiencies, if any, as viewed by anyone will be MOST WELCOME, if accompanied with suggested solutions. Otherwise too, dear wonderful folks, you are ALWAYS WELCOME, on YOUR unique forum, with all your friends and guests. After all has been said, and done for, it is ultimately OUR FORUM ! Here's to, one of THE MOST JOYFUL ONLINE COMMUNITIES IN THE WORLD!

Has Yahoo! Answers been successful in creating a joyful community?
Hi I think it is joyful when used in the right spirit of sharing ideas, experience and knowledge. I like the idea of there being a network of people out there to tap into. I dont like it when people answer rudely, with bad taste or just downright insulting! Im not sure how you could stop them though...
Reply:not really, as no one watches the answer team, who continually create screen names and give themselves best answers.

the "report" and violation" process is whatever they feel like at the time, and that's just not fair. If someone who works for yahoo answers doesn't' understand a question or an answer, they "violate" it. some of the obvious transgressions go untouched while anything that upsets the teenage answer team is banished.

no one watches the workers.
Reply:yes
Reply:I wish I shared your enthusiasm, unfortunately I agree with Mel. Too much cheating, by people with multiple accounts, too much spamming by people using this site to promote their chosen careers. Abuse of the no best answer button, as well as the thumbs downs that are given out randomly by people who don't even read the questions and answers properly.

Too many people trying to build their parts up and be 'yahoo leaders' when they're just ordinary users like the rest of us.

Too many cliques, too many categories being 'owned' by particular users and their friends. Which compounds the abuse of the no best answers and thumbs down problems

Too many changes being made almost on a weekly basis by yahoo, some that work, others that create more chaos and confusion.

The site is becoming too divided, it seems to belong to some members more than others, those that make most noise get most attention and I think the users that contribute the most are being driven away to other sites.
Reply:Why I think that we are all so close right now, that we could take warm showers together !
Reply:yes. we can exchange ideas and answers together and learn more.
Reply:why, yes it has! i'll elaborate on why when it's not 2 in the am.... :)
Reply:Yes I enjoy this very much grant there is some that abuse the guidelines but that is what the report abuse button is for but overall I would say that I enjoy the time I spend on here
Reply:yes... it does... we can share all our thoughts here and have 'fun"
