Aside from YAnswers, what are the best online communities?

I'm interested in finding examples of the best communities online. If there is a community that you use regularly or that you think is especially easy to use, I'd love to hear about it!

Aside from YAnswers, what are the best online communities?
The most utterly free, completely uncensored boards I've ever seen are on YouTube. One problem though: No comment can be more than 500 charactors long, so you have to be punchy and concise, or as Bill O'Reilly says, "pithy".

I'm also a member of Gather.com but I'm not tremendously impressed by it. The quality of the writing and the thinking both seem kind of smarmy and middle-brow. Maybe it will get better as more people join it.... if it lasts that long.

I kind of like "TimeBomb2000" but then, I'm really open to the doomer perspective. If you can handle an alternative take on What It All Means, then give them a try. Their forums are lively without being mean (usually) and they have a lot of members.
