Ps3 online users?

does any one know a ps3 online community to find ps3 online users ? kinda like gamer profiles from xbox 360. is there such a thing for ps3?

Ps3 online users?
I just use the official PlayStation Forums to find other PS users.

How would you define a good online comminity e.g. Youtube, facebook, friendster and etc today?

Today, most of the people like to join online community for information seeking or exchange, entertainment or even making friends. What kind of features on the online community will make you feel that it is a good one to join? For example, the usefulness of the content or any other motivations.

How would you define a good online comminity e.g. Youtube, facebook, friendster and etc today?
Why does this question feel like an essay topic for a communications class? Oh well, I'll answer anyway lol...

I think most people join online communities to keep in touch with friends and perhaps find new ones. The fun in finding people you haven't spoken to in a while, as well as seeing what they're up to is a huge draw, plus the fact that they're only a click away. It makes people feel connected, even if physically they are miles apart. True, phones used to be the way to communicate over distance, but now with computers and the internet, people can instantly see pictures and video of each other -- even more interaction, even if it's not in person/face to face.

Having said that, features that make a good online community should focus on definitely pictures and video capabilites. Blogs or notes for people to write to each other is essential too. As long as people are able to communicate what they want to who they want, that community serves it's purpose.

Alright dude, take my words, and get that A on your essay!

How about creating a community around happiness?

Folks,

I have been reading a lot of forums and it seems a lot of people are struggling in their pursuit of happiness. In recent times, economists have also started questioning the traditional models of growth and their ability to make people happy.

I think it’s important that we start building a community where the primary goal is to help each other attain happiness.

I searched on the net and came across www.myhappiness.com. It seemed to offer articles about happiness. There seemed to be a concept of a happy online community as well.

Is anyone here aware of something similar? What do other folks think of the idea?

It will be nice to only discuss happiness on a site.

Are there many players online for Playstation 3?

I originally wanted a PS3 knowing that the hardware was much better, but opted for the Xbox 360 because of a larger online community.

What I want to know is the games that they do have online capability for, on the Playstation 3, are there many players online daily?

On Xbox 360, any of the semi-popular games, there are atleast 50 players online at any given time. Usually atleast 100 for the poular games. Is this the same on the PS3?

Im especially asking about the shooter games.

Are there many players online for Playstation 3?
Yes there is a good amount of people online now days. Call of duty 3 has ussually 100 atleast at a time. Madden has a whole lot. the only trouble for online is with my nascar 08 game for it. Just about any shooter game or sports game has online for it. It tells you on the back of the box if it has online. Go for the PS3. Make sure you buy it at like a store that takes things back. Yes the shooter games are great online and its free. You dont have to pay 50 bucks a year to play it online. It also has some great games coming out. there is Warhawk it looks really good and it comes with a blue tooth headset. Unreal Tournament 2007 and there is another game i forgot the name of that you can camo flauge. I recommend the PS3. Also it comes with a Blu Ray Player. The graphics are about the same for now. the 360's have been having way too much problems. You can do a whole lot more with the PS3.
Reply:this site will give you a playstation 3 just for completing some quick online tasks! really recommend it, especially if you're broke but really want a ps3 (like me).

I got Mario Strikers Charged for Wii a little while ago. When I tried to play it online, (see below)?

The first time was three days after the game came out, but everyone that I tried to play against refused to play against me. They obviously preferred to play against other people who were higher up in the rankings so that they would ascend higher in the rankings themselves.

The second time that I tried to play online, it was 3:30 PM that next week. Out of all 20,000~ people who are registered to play this game online in the world, not a single person was online!

Apparently, I'm been very dissapointed with the Mario Strikers Charged Online Community,

One of my friends uses his X-Box 360 to play racing games online all of the time.

What is the problem with the Mario Strikers Charged online community and Wii online altogether?

I've played regular X-Box online, albeit it was after the X-Box 360 came out so I was only able to play online between 10 PM and 2 AM.

Perhaps, I could play Wii online between those hours. I doubt that it would be worth the lack of sleep.

PC Gaming Community?

Basically, I’m a hardcore PC Gamer, have been for years, and find it really difficult to find a good online community for PC Gaming.

One where you can make friends, start clans, play in leagues, tournaments and win prizes etc…

So I’ve started to build a website/forum, which will enable gamers from all over the globe to connect with each other and form a base for PC Gaming.

The site is called: www.FRAGTASTIC.org and my questions are:

-How is the best way to advertise www.FRAGTASTIC.org

-Where can I advertise for Admins/Moderators for www.FRAGTASTIC.org

Thanks in advance ! :)

PC Gaming Community?
Interesting site, I'm going to tell you why PC gaming is a slump or decline right now.

If you look at some of newly upcoming games, they look amazing, but they require high end requirements to run. Crysis for example is a game that requires a pretty beefy machine to run smoothly and nicely.

Why do gamers go console? So they can just put in the disc and play. What do PC gamers have worry about?

- Drivers

- Graphics cards

- RAM

- Game settings

Though I do love PC gaming, sometimes it just gets too difficult for most people to get into.
Reply:yes i also agree pc gaming is not on decline. Yes you have to work alittle to get all the stuff up to date, but it pays off alot in multiple ways. I you are just a lazy a$$ then just get your self a PS3.

Anyway, back to the question. i dont know, lolz sry!
Reply:Actually, PC gaming is not in decline. Upcoming new titles make it very very worthwhile to have a pc. Even though we do have to worry about hardware, isn't it worth it to see crysis in full graphics? I will definitely check out the site but keep in mind pc is not declining.

ASP.NET Community Software?

I'm looking to integrate online community software with a Web site I am building. I am looking to use an ASP.NET software program that is visually pleasning. I don't really want something like a typical bulletin board software program. I really need something I can fully customize and skin with my GUI. Ideally something like Yahoo Answers!, but I'm sure that is stretching it.

Does anyone know of a program that can help me?

Why is Yahoo Answers such a nice community?

I joined not long ago and i was just noticing now that Yahoo Answers is a really nice online community. Why is this? On other online communities you hear of people doing really bad things but not on Yahoo Answers.

Why is Yahoo Answers such a nice community?
cause we have this nice little thing called a "report it" button and if people get too nasty they get reported. so people have really started to tone it down a bit.

I have only ever logged into the Australian and Japanese servers... Resistance - Fall Of Man for e.g. is always packed with players.

It very easy to find a server with 60+ players in the 1 room.

lol can't take 2 steps without gettin' killed but ya know ;-)

Might depend on where is the world you are.
Reply:All the shooter games i have played online for the PS3(resistance, call of duty, rainbow six) have had plenty of people to play. I like the PS3 better(I have both) but 360 does have a better online setup, of course though, its been around longer and you have to pay for it, so it should be better. PS3 is free, no yearly subscription fee. 360 has more games, but of course, its been around longer. come this holiday season PS3s gonna have alot of good titles. After PS3 gets some time under its belt its gonna blow 360 out of the water. because of the fact it has better technology.
Reply:For Resistance, I would guess at least thousands on at any given time, also, rainbow six vegas also has many people on, as so does motorstorm and mostly any other online game, more than half of all ps3's are registered for online, so there are millions of people online.
Reply:I only have a few games but I will say for Resistance i have never had a problem finding a match. It automatically selects the ranked matches and depending on the available players it adjusts the maps. I have heard Rainbow Six has plenty of people also.
Reply:i have rainbow six vegas and call of duty 3 and the online play is very good and there are lots of players on both games maybe over a thousand on at any given time

Reply:A BRIEF HISTORY OF AIDS

In the early 80's, doctors started seeing more and more people with suppressed immune systems coming into emergency rooms with several opportunistic infections. These were primarily gay men and intravenous drug users. There was

panic within the gay community and in the general population as more and more people began dying of what was called AIDS: Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome.

In 1984, Robert Gallo, a research scientist working for the National Institute of Health (NIH), announced in a press conference that he had discovered the probable cause of AIDS, and that it was a retrovirus later called HIV: Human

Immunodeficiency Virus. Without having published his findings for peer review he announced this to the press. The media immediately ran with it, and people began demanding funding into research into HIV, all based on the assumption that

HIV is a sexually-transmitted pathogen that causes AIDS.

The gay community especially rallied and pushed for more AIDS funding and better education about 'safe sex'. In 1987 a drug called AZT was approved by the FDA for the treatment

of AIDS, and this began a multi-billion dollar industry.

RETROVIRUSES DO NOT CAUSE DISEASE

HIV is a normal retrovirus. Its genetic composition does not differ very much from other retroviruses. No retrovirus has ever been shown to cause disease outside of a lab. Unlike ordinary viruses, retroviruses do not kill their host cells. Retroviruses occur naturally inside of the cells of many animals, including humans. Retroviruses are seen by many scientists to be naturally occurring parts of our cells. Retroviruses are not sexually-transmitted, but they are passed from mother to child. Retroviruses had been studied by the NIH extensively throughout the 70's in hopes that they would find a retrovirus that caused cancer. Because retroviruses do not kill cells, they were a perfect candidate for cancer, in which cells do not die but instead multiply rapidly.

Millions of dollars went into all of this research into retroviruses with nothing to show for it. Gallo himself tried to prove more than once that he had found a disease-causing retrovirus, only to be debunked by the scientific community. When AIDS appeared, Gallo and the NIH were already looking for a

disease that they could blame on a retrovirus, to justify all of their wasted funding.

HIV HAS NEVER BEEN FOUND

HIV has never been isolated from human blood. What AIDS researchers call isolation of HIV is the finding of certain chemicals and enzymatic activity that they claim indicates the presence of HIV. They find proteins and genetic material thought to come from HIV, or they find reverse transcriptase activity.

But none of these proteins, RNA strands, or enzyme activities are unique to HIV.

What most AIDS scientists research in their labs is a lab artifact. It is HIV that is created and grown in a lab, and it is thought to be the same thing that causes AIDS when it infects people.

THE TEST DOES NOT FIND HIV

The test for HIV does not look for an actual virus in your blood. It looks for antibodies that will react with a set of proteins that are produced by HIV. But none of these proteins are specific to HIV. Antibodies in the blood resulting

from other conditions can cross-react with the proteins in the HIV test. Blood must be diluted before being tested for HIV. Without dilution, all blood samples would test positive for HIV because we all have some antibodies that will cross-react with the test. There are at least 66 factors that are known to

cause false positive results on an HIV test, including other infections, drug use, and receptive anal sex. Having unprotected receptive anal sex causes your body to produce antibodies in response to semen.

These antibodies to semen can cross-react with the proteins in the HIV test, producing a false positive result. In addition, people of African descent have a higher probability of

testing false positive, because they naturally have a greater variety of antibodies in their blood.

NO GOLD STANDARD FOR HIV TESTING

HIV tests are not standardized. This is because HIV has never been isolated from human blood, so there is no way to know how specific the tests are to HIV infection. The Food %26amp; Drug Administration (FDA) does not approve a single HIV

test for the diagnosis of HIV infection. There are a variety of tests, and the results are interpreted differently in different countries. So the same sample of blood could test positive in the United States while testing negative in Europe. Another more expensive HIV test is the viral load test. Viral load

testing makes use of PCR: polymerase chain reaction. It takes a very small amount of genetic material and makes enough copies of it that you can detect it.

Dr. Kary Mullis, who won a Nobel prize for inventing PCR, is among the scientists who say that HIV does not cause AIDS. He claims that viral load testing is a misuse of PCR. PCR does not find isolated virus in the blood. It finds pieces of RNA strands thought to belong to HIV.

PRESENCE OF ANTIBODIES MEANS IMMUNITY

Usually, if you test positive for antibodies that means that your immune system has effectively fought off a pathogen and you now have immunity. But with the HIV test, the logic is reversed. Instead of meaning that you now have immunity to HIV, testing positive is said to mean that you are infected and your immune

system has failed to neutralize the virus. The great hope for many who believe that HIV causes AIDS is that researchers will some day develop a vaccine. But vaccines work by causing your body to produce antibodies specific to a pathogen.

If a vaccine for HIV was created, everyone who had the vaccine would then test positive for HIV on the non-specific antibody tests now in use.

AZT SUPPRESSES THE IMMUNE SYSTEM

The original drug used to treat people with AIDS, called AZT, was not created for AIDS treatment. AZT was originally developed in the 70's as a chemotherapy drug for cancer patients, but it was not approved because it was determined to

be too toxic. Chemotherapy for cancer patients is limited to a certain duration, while AZT and similar drugs are prescribed to AIDS patients for the rest of their lives. The study that lead to FDA approval for AZT has now been shown to have been fraudulent. The package for AZT says: "TOXIC. Toxic by

inhalation, in contact with skin and if swallowed. Wear suitable protective clothing." Among other side effects, AZT destroys the bone marrow of the body.

The reason doctors see an initial rise in their patients' T cell count after taking AZT is because the bone marrow is where T cells are produced. AZT destroys the bone marrow and this releases more T cells from the marrow into the blood. Prolonged use of AZT has been shown to suppress the immune system and lower T cell counts. About 95% of AIDS-related deaths have occurred since the release of AZT.

ANTIRETROVIRAL SIDE EFFECT LEADING CAUSE OF DEATH

The newer protease inhibitors used in combo therapy are also a type of chemotherapy. They work by preventing the replication of genetic material belonging to HIV. But these proteins are not specific to HIV, and the protease

inhibitors do not exclusively target HIV. The highest cause of death today for people with AIDS is liver failure. Liver failure is not an AIDS-defining illness, but it is a known side-effect of the protease inhibitors. AIDS patients can see the disappearance of some symptoms while taking the drug cocktails. This is because the drugs they are taking are global poisons that

kill many microbes in the body that may be pathogenic, such as bacteria and other viruses.

ANTIRETROVIRALS NOT PROVEN TO IMPROVE HEALTH

The drug companies claim that the release of protease inhibitors in 1996 was responsible for decreased deaths due to AIDS. But deaths from AIDS had already begun a declining trend three years before in 1993, and the introduction of

protease inhibitors did not significantly alter this trend. Studies are no longer comparing AIDS drugs with a placebo. Now when they test a new antiretroviral drug they compare a group taking the new drug with a group that is taking the older drugs. There are no studies being done comparing the difference in health between people taking the AIDS medications and people who are not taking the drugs, though many HIV positive people lead healthy lives free of disease for many years, without taking AIDS medication.

CDC REDEFINES AIDS TO INCREASE NUMBERS

AIDS statistics can be very misleading. This is because of the many definitions for AIDS that have been used by different countries and at different times.

Originally, in the United States you had to test HIV positive and have one or more of the AIDS-defining illnesses to be counted as somebody with AIDS. In 1993 the Center for Disease Control (CDC) expanded this definition to include

anyone who tested positive for HIV and had a T cell count of under 200. This nearly tripled the perceived number of AIDS cases in the US. Many of the people who have AIDS by this definition are perfectly healthy, and would not be

considered to have AIDS if they moved to Canada.

AIDS IN AFRICA CAUSED BY POVERTY

Today we are told that ridiculously large numbers of people in Africa are HIV positive and will die of AIDS unless treated. These statistics are not counts of people who have actually tested positive. It is an estimation generated from

a sample population. The sample population is primarily pregnant women, who are the ones who get priority for medical treatment in poor countries. But pregnancy is known to be a source for false positive results on HIV tests. And

people of African descent in general are more likely to test false positive.

The World Health Organization does not require a positive HIV test for the diagnosis of AIDS in Africa. All that is required is a certain number of symptoms. But all of these symptoms can also be explained by malnutrition, malaria, and tuberculosis, conditions that have been health risks for Africans

long before the invention of AIDS. The health of poor Africans would undoubtedly be improved with better food and sanitation.

But funding is now being geared towards delivery of toxic AIDS medications to Africans rather than for these basic essentials.

AIDS DEFINES ITSELF

Clearly many people have died in this country and elsewhere as the result of a suppressed immune system. But the 29 AIDS-defining illnesses are not new illnesses, and they all have previously documented causes and treatments.

Diagnosis of AIDS now works like a formula. If you have pneumonia and you test HIV negative, you are told you have pneumonia. If you have pneumonia and you test HIV positive, you are told you have AIDS and you are treated with toxic

AIDS drugs. For those people who are truly immune suppressed, there are other possible explanations for this phenomenon, and many safe non-toxic therapies.

DRUGS AND MALNUTRITION CAUSE AIDS

If the true condition of AIDS is a suppressed immune system unable to fight off opportunistic infections, there are many other factors that can cause this.

Drugs such as cocaine and crystal methane are known to suppress the immune system. These drugs were used extensively by many gay men in the 1970's and 1980's. Intravenous drug users who have AIDS are said to be immune suppressed due to HIV, rather than due to the drug they have been injecting.

Corticosteroids and some antibiotics, often prescribed to drug addicts and promiscuous gay men, are also immune suppressive. Blood given to hemophiliacs and other transplant recipients used to be treated with immune suppressing

agents. Now with a new way to treat this blood, AIDS among blood recipients has declined. Despite predictions of a global epidemic, AIDS cases in the United States have remained confined to its original primary risk groups: promiscuous

gay men and intravenous drug users. In the gay party scene, drug use, malnutrition, and sleep deprivation continue to be high risk factors for immune deficiency.

POPPERS CAUSE KAPOSI'S SARCOMA

Kaposi's Sarcoma is one of the AIDS-indicator diseases, but it primarily occurs in gay men and not other AIDS groups. Nitrite inhalants or poppers, used extensively by gay men in the 70's and 80's, have been shown to cause Kaposi's Sarcoma (KS). KS is a cancer of the blood vessels. Nitrites are known

carcinogens. KS is usually seen in gay men around the face, mouth, and in the lungs, all sites of contact with nitrite fumes.

There are many recorded incidents of KS in HIV-negative gay men who used poppers. As the use of poppers decreased in the 90's, the incidence of KS also decreased. Poppers are still

used by many gay men.

FEAR ALONE CAN CAUSE AIDS

Fear and anxiety is another factor that can suppress the immune system. Stress releases cortisol in the body. This cortisol is used to help break down tissues for the release of energy needed in a fight or flight situation. But prolonged

stress and anxiety creates abnormally high levels of cortisol in the body.

Cortisol has been shown to suppress the immune system and decrease T cell counts. Irregular sleep or lack of sleep also increases cortisol levels. Gay men who face discrimination and hatred for their sexuality can experience chronic fear and anxiety. Intravenous drug users also face a lot of chronic

fear and paranoia as part of their addiction. Testing positive for HIV itself can create huge amounts of fear in the person being diagnosed.

Online money making.?

webistes where i can earn online. NO SPAMS PLEASE. im only 16, and i want to earn money, with my spare time infront of the computer rather than spending my time with other online community like friendster and myspace.

earn online w/o paying monthly for the website?.

i want the easiest way and easy to understand.

Online money making.?
look at my profile, and visit the site under "about me"...sign up there....here is some information about the site:

This is a site from which you are given the chance to earn money. What you have to do is complete surveys and offers for companies that want the public's opinion. By doing this, you are able to earn money very easily for simply giving your opinion or trying out sample products. This is a great service that allows one to work from home, on their spare time, at their leisure, and still bring in a nice sum of money every month. People have made up to $800 easily on this site by just working on it in their spare time. It is not going to replace a real job's salary, but it is a very nice bonus. There are also many features on this web site, such as contests and special surveys, from which you can redeem extra prizes that would be sent to you with your monthly cheque, such as iPods, Xbox 360s, gift certificates, and much more.

Cheques are sent monthly, and usually arrive about a week or a week and a half into the next month. No payment from you is ever required, not to sign up, not EVER. Unlike other sites that try to scam people out of their money, this site never requires you to pay them.

"If the site doesn't get paid from me, then why would they have this service going?" - The site doesn't get paid directly from you, but when you complete an offer or survey, they also get paid a small portion of what you earned yourself. For example, if you complete a survey about computers let's say, you would earn maybe $2 and the web site itself would recieve $0.50 from the company also for getting you to complete the survey. These surveys take little time at all, most taking up less than even 2 or 3 minutes of your time.

Fraud is also a big deal on the Internet these days, and this site recognizes that. That is why they ask for ONLY three bits of information: Your name, email address and your home address. Yup, that is all. No credit card information, no banking information, nothing like that. All they require is your name and address so that your cheque can be sent to your home every month. Your email address is only required to confirm that you have done the offers and surveys. Reply:I came across an incredible home based business opportunity on the web last month. to date my residual income has climbed to $280 per month (that's month after month) and affiliate sales have reached $645. You get a free website with 90 ready made pages and the ability to add and customize each. The low investment ($20) is hard to believe and personally, I think they should raise it as I am sure most view this as a "too good to be true". I am not saying you can just sit back and watch it flow in, but I AM saying it was a piece of cake to start and build. Check out the posted article on it listed in the resource box below. Good Luck.
Reply:Hey. It depends what you would like to do online. Since you like the online community thing you might like MyLot. This is a paid to post site. You get paid to start discussion and reply to posts on other people. You can also try Agloco, which you download a tool bar and get paid to surf the web. Sites such as Inbox Dollars, Send Earnings, and Cash Crate have daily surveys that you participate in. You can view ads and get paid for them at AdBux, PTCBux, Clix Sense and more. It really depends on what you would like to do with your time.

Just to be safe... please check the age requirement on the sites before you join. Some are 13 years old so I know you can find something. Other might be at least 18 year old. Just double check before you join. Good Luck!

Fanart Communities ONLINE Where can I find one?

So far.. besides DeviantART.. I can find NO. FAN. ART. COMMUNITIES.

The only online art communities ONLY allow you to upload photography, and paintings of only certain things, done in only a certain way. They limit creativity.

And NONE of them allow you to upload "Anime and Manga" style art. It deeply annoys me. Where is a site where I can post "Anime and Manga" style art work?

Where is a site BESIDES DeviantART I can showcase me ART in? I do mainly digital Art Work. To have no where to put any of it is very upsetting.

Fanart Communities ONLINE Where can I find one?
Several big ones went down in the past few years (server problems that were not able to be resolved, files not saved) but there's others out there.

What TYPE of fan art are you looking for a community for? Several have crossover with manga.

Here's one with furry art--manga style for many of the artists who post. It's got forums, art of the day, art shown by artist, etc. It's been around for at least 5 years.

http://us.vclart.net/vcl/

This is science fiction type art, but while it's been around for a long time the majority of serious artist have gravitated away to other sites. It's got forums %26amp; such too. However it's a good one to get feedback on.

What motivates 'griefers' in online games / forums?

Anyone who is part of or been part of an online community / game will have met a griefer or two in their time.

A griefer is a term used to describe people who for no reason simply cause problems in these online wolds / games /communities. They may flood a chat room with profanity. Shoot their team mates in the back in online games or simply post rubbish on sites such as yahoo answers :). Now I know it isnt a age related thing. not all of them are little 12-14 year olds with nothing better to do. Many are quite normal lets say 20-40 years old with good jobs and happy fmaily lifes yet every night they go online and do as muchj to annoy complete strangers as they can.

What do you think motivates people so try and cause problems / upset people without any cause in this manner?

What motivates 'griefers' in online games / forums?
I think this site would be very dull and not much used if people only asked real questions that they want the answer to. I agree that abuse, racism and all other nasty things are not welcome in real life nor should they be here - l dont see the harm in a little fun with peoples (including mine) dumb questions just to raise a bit of debate. I quite like answering dumb questions because if you answer them in the spitit they are obviously written its fun - People that respond to nasty and abusive questions only encourage more - If those dumb morons had no responses they would ask no further questions.
Reply:Lets see. I'd suggest any number of the following of which one or more may be the cause.

1) Boredom

2) Anonymity

3) Lack of respect

4) Lack of attention

5) Because they can

6) Because it provokes a reaction

Why do you use online forums?

Hello, my name is Angela Malin; I am currently working towards by BA (hons) Media and Communications. I am currently conducting a research project regarding “Neighbours” the Australian soap opera and its Fans…. As part of this I am studying the use and interaction of online forums. I would be great full if you could use this space to address a few questions regarding this topic or any general comments about the show and online communities you wish to make

I will use these as part of the project all of which will be confidential as well as being a great help to me…

So to get things going … For what purpose do you use online forums (in general and in relation to Neighbours)

Do you feel that a sense of community is created on online forums?

Other things you might like to discuss is frequency of viewing and what you enjoy about being a fan.

Thank you in advance and look forward to hearing you responses and reactions, positive or negative.

How does online schooling work?

I want to do online school but is it as good as a community college or even university degree? Or do i have to go online, community and university. What are some good online schools that are credible?

How does online schooling work?
It's very much like regular schooling. My mom goes to an online school and it's very simple. She has this plan where she can take one class for 5 weeks, but it's intense. Last time she went, all she had to do was take these online tests and whatnot. She said it was much easier than lugging 2 or 3 bookbags just to carry books in between classes.

You can also do the satellite schooling. I know that we have a satellite center for a college here in Alliance.

My mom goes to The University of Phoenix, and she can do it straight from home. I don't know all that much about it, but she likes it a lot better.

Hope I helped you out!

Online degree program that will accept credits from a community college in louisana for a bachelor of arts?

As long as your community college is accredited, you should have no problem transferring some of them to a regionally accredited online university. I would consider such universities as Grand Canyon University (www.gcu.edu), Walden University (www.waldenu.edu), and North Central University (www.ncu.edu). Also, if you're looking to save money on college, a lot of state universities now offer entire bachelors degrees online. Maybe LSU has one of these? Good Luck! Just make sure that your university is regionally accredited by someone like SACS or WACS.

Online Teaching - Sent Many Applications - Not many responses?

I have a Masters in Management from Troy University and I'm currently looking to teach at the Community College level either online or in the local area. I have applied to many online colleges however I haven't received much feedback. I work for the government as an Contract Specialist. I graduated with a 3.4 with my Master's. Any advice on any online community colleges or any advice on what I can do to achieve my next goal. Thanks

Online Teaching - Sent Many Applications - Not many responses?
A lot of on-line places don't respond when you send your resume. Your best bet to find places that are actually actively hiring is to go to www.higheredjobs.com and www.chroniclejobs.com. Other than those 2 sites, you can go on to the websites of the individual schools in your area. Look for links to "employment" or "human resources". Another option is to do a search for on-line schools and go on each page and look in their HR section. Many colleges require you to fill out an application through their system before they will even consider you.

Why can't people online dialogue in a respectful manner especially on the topic of Politics?

Recently I have noticed that people in the online community write slangs, slams, hatred, racism and other negative comments that they would never say face to face. What is your perspective on why people online do this?

People who hate videos on youtube.com say bad words all the time. In politics there is always this argument of liberals and conservatives. Why can't both sides understand that they are only a point of view? Can't they debate in a respectful manner?

What does all these slangs, slams and hatred accomplish? From my opinion it just shows that people online are very narcissistic at times. We as humans are not always correct and have to accept our humanity. Humans are not perfect and are not always correct. Why can't the online community accept that we are sometimes wrong and find a concession point?

NOTE: No slams, slangs or hatred. This is to get a personal view on how you see people who are online. Anyone can answer and people from any country your view is welcome.

Why can't people online dialogue in a respectful manner especially on the topic of Politics?
I think there is a boldness being anonymous and aloof. Cowardice actually. Stereo typing just divides us before you state any debate. Ignorance presents rants and behavior one many not exhibit in person. I am not a fan of these neo-con slanders and lib com's or any of the terms. I have been guilty of making some political candidates names up and for that I am trying to reduce it. Mild comments but still? Where do you draw the line.

I saw yesterday so many swear words and garbage slung , more than ever before. Where were the editors? It gets confusing when some slide by and others get a violation?

You have made an excellent comment and a question we should all ask. WHY? And is it outta hand? Have we learned nothing thru history? Hatred begets more hatred and ultimately, violence. We deserve better and should conduct ourselves as adults. The rest is unacceptable. Thank you very much.
Reply:because, when comes to topics like politics, religion, sexual orintation, its never be peaceful. this is way society became. sad but true
Reply:Because some people just don't consider things beyond their own time complex... seeeeellllllfiiiish but whatev goes to show e'm
Reply:politics are never discussed in polite company...either confer with like minded people or be prepared for the onslaught...
Reply:True debate is an art form seldom learned online because the majority wants to scribble with crayons while the true artists are patiently trying to encourage the use of water colors, oil on canvas, etc...

It's easy (and very human) to scribble on someone else’s canvas when you don't appreciate the bigger picture or feel like examining your own painting a little closer for flaws.
Reply:Because we are a society of elitists. We have the sort of 'my views are better than yours and if you don't agree, then you're wrong in the wrongest sense possible.'

Its a shame, but what can you do escept change the way that you deal with how people disagree, and try to lead by example.

:]
Reply:Good question. People get mighty sensitive when their beliefs are being challenged, ESPECIALLY when it comes to politics and religion. I think people are more bold online because it's anonymous. It would be nice if we could just accept that everyone is entitled to their views, and move on, but i dont see that happening. The thing is, in person I get along just fine with people who have different political/religious views than I do, but online it seems impossible.

Looking for advice on my community?

I have recentley built a community online and looking for members now. It's a free social community where many of us can meet around the web in one community and share thoughts ideas and opinions.

The reason for my post is that I am having problems promoting it. Not sure if it's The set-up, the lack of interest in these types of online communities, or just failure to promote in the proper places.

I am looking for level headed adults and teens to take part and provide comments and suggestions that would make the site a little more interesting.

I have a membership in a couple of online social communities, like linkedin a another one whose name I forgot.

To date, there has been no benefit.

Online poetry communities that would welcome songwriters as well?

I am looking for an online poetry community in which I can grow and exchange ideas with other poets and songwriters. I just googled it, so I can see that they are not all equal. It would be great if such a community would offer a chance to exchange specific, constructive feedback--not simply negative criticism or quick, snarky one-liners. lol

Suggestions?

Please suggest poetry/songwriting communities with which you or someone you know has had a good experience.

Thanks.

Online poetry communities that would welcome songwriters as well?
i don't know of any...but I agree.

There should be a forum to exchange ideas and info and get constructive criticism..for poets and songwriters...

although i would be sure to have my work copywritten before posting them on-line...its far too easy to have your work stolen.
Reply:I'd recommend you check out Neopoet.com. It's a little on the smaller side-- just a 1,000 members or so, but it's really intimate and friendly.

Will a community colledge accept a diploma from an online highschool if you pass your compass exam?

I think you have to check with the college to see what they accept and any other requirements for admission, etc.

Will a community colledge accept a diploma from an online highschool if you pass your compass exam?
Almost always. Was that online high school accredited? If so, absolutely. If not, it will depend on how loose the CC's standards are. I have a friend who played the open-admissions game so well that he completed his college degree and medical school and now he's a doctor--all without ever graduating from high school.

Passing the compass exam is a point in your favor, of course.

But don't be afraid to call the CC and ask them. They'll be helpful--they LIKE students (unlike many of the universities out there).

Eat only when hungry and not more than thrice a day. Nothing other than water in between. Include plenty of uncooked vegetables and fruits in each meal, preferably 50%. Chew each morsel at least 32 times to activate ur body to generate signals of hunger/fullness. Obey these signals.

Take light exercises and brisk walks regularly preferably twice a day.

Where can I play strip poker online using my webcam against real girls? I'm looking for a community of players

This summary is not available. Please click here to view the post.

How have online games given you a sense of community?

because people behind screens are from different countries, you get to know them and that interests you pretty much(at lease for me).

when you join clans and guilds, you are bound to follow the schedule therefore it creates sense of belongingness.imagine 40 people around the world come together, some during lunch break hour, some just woke up by his alarmclock in the middle of the night, all together for a specific mission, a common goal. That is a great way for establishing team bonding and friendship.

I think not all players are lack of life and then turn to their friends online, at least i'm not one of them, i just like to interact with people, be it around me or thousands of miles away from me

How have online games given you a sense of community?
If you go on the Internet responsibly, MMOs is the easyest way to get friends and clans. it gives you a little "family" to come home to
Reply:i agree... since i got here at u.s. i have been playing with online friends for 3 years. same game we play all the time. if we find a new game we tell each other and we catch up with the games and stuff.

and u can be really good friends with people u meet on online games.

Anyone know of any good first person shooters for the ps2 online gameing that has a good community support.?

i prefer first person shooters kinda like battlefield 2 modern combat.

Anyone know of any good first person shooters for the ps2 online gameing that has a good community support.?
This seem bold to say, but anyone who played it would agree...The best online first person shooter that also had a great online community was Medal of Honor Rising sun.. Just because anyone could host a game and have complete control it, people actualy came online to hang out and talk, and then when it was time for a clan match, things got serious and there was some seriously intense games.. Unfortunately i havent been on in a few weeks and it may have been shut down due to new games needing servers.. dumbass EA, its a shame..

Can anyone tell me if you can become an LPN online and take clincal at your community college in Florida?

I would suggest to contact your state board of nursing to find out. A lot of the "LPN" programs offered online are not accredited by state which means even if you completed your course, they would not let you take the boards. Also, check with local colleges about what they offer for Nursing Programs. here is a link... not sure if it is the state or not.......

What's the best online news site for the liberal community to get its news?

Like articles, opinion polls, etc.

What's the best online news site for the liberal community to get its news?
Huffpo of course and for provative thinking dailykos
Reply:As a liberal, I get them from all over the place, not just on line either. The WallStreet Journal is great source. It's conservative, but they report on things that shareholders would want to know before investing in companies. Alot of this news cons would consider liberal because it's not covered on Fox or mainstream news.

Other sources, are:

L.A Times, Militarytimes.com, the Nation, Salon, Newsweek, Time magazine, Investors Business Daily (very conservative), the Progressive, MotherJones, Indymedia, New York Review of Books ( I don't think this is on line but it is very informative if you get a subscription), USA today, and tons more from the foreign press. I think it is important to be well rounded from all sides.

Reply:I'd rather get views from both sides of the political spectrum, so I read RealClearPolitics every day. They do post polls and also articles from newspapers and magazines from around the U.S., Canada, Australian and the U.K. It has a morning and afternoon edition. It is not a blog and does not accept comments, which I prefer. While it is important to think for yourself, you need the necessary information to form an opinion on a issue, so I like to review both sides. I know that's not what you asked, but you will get liberal views from RCP, but you'll also get conservative views.

Are online courses harder than a regular community college class?

it would help me a lot if I could have as much information as possible before I register for classes.

Are online courses harder than a regular community college class?
Depends on if you are able to learn and study on your own. Some people learn faster and easier if they are being taught in a class. Online classes are not for those that procrastinate.

Are online courses harder than a regular community college class?
Not if you're motivated. You will generally have the same book and other materials if they are the same class.

It depends on your learning style. If you learn best with lectures a community college class would probably be better for you. However, if you are capable of just reading and understanding, youd do fine in online courses. Plus they are more self-paced, so you can work semi at your own speed but still meet deadlines.

The main thing with online classes is you have to be motivated to actually sit down and work. Otherwise you'll never get anything done. Don't view it as a blow-off class just because you dont actually have to GO to class.
Reply:entirely depends on the program as well as the classes themselves
Reply:Not harder, just different. You have to be an independent learner and not need the interaction of face to face discussion.

check this link - it is the site of a very well recognized university in Canada that has been doing distance education for more than 30 years. You should find good information there. Do be careful of online courses. Not all of them are worth the money.

Hello i am a Cuny student at queensborough community college...I want to take a online course at Hostos.?

SO i want to take a online class at hostos...since there both in cuny

will they allow me to do it?

I dont want it to transfer over or anything ....I just want to take the class

I was wondering will they stop me and say im takign classes at another cuny school?

Im paying for it out of pocket too...

Hello i am a Cuny student at queensborough community college...I want to take a online course at Hostos.?
You can probably do it if it's a course not offered at Queensborough and if you have the department chair's permission. Before Arabic was offered at Hunter I know students got permission to take it at John Jay for language credit. Get to know the department chair that would supervise the class you want, explain how the class will help you in your major or in satisfying any core curriculum requirements, and if you can, show him/her a syllabus of the class you want so that he/she can evaluate it.

If the department chair still says no, maybe you can take it over the summer instead. The credits will most likely still count toward graduation but probably not for your major.

Good luck.

What kind of a person would post illegal copies of religious books online to "help" their religious community?

I was just forwarded info about a website (won't post the info here,as that would probably violate the rules) with at least 1 dozen copyrighted and widely available books on Pagan religions.

Who would do that? Do they think authors are making mad money or something?

What kind of a person would post illegal copies of religious books online to "help" their religious community?
A person with a very interesting interpretation of copy write law. I'm still flabbergasted when I search for some bit of information and find pages and pages of some book I own (and is still in print) online at google books - I'm really not understanding how that is working. My husband, who for some reason finds copy write laws and intellectual property interesting (it's actually a hobby of his but it's related to his work too) tried to explain it to me, but I still couldn't truly grasp it.

I think the answer you're looking for is "a criminal".

And "mad money" is very subjective.

Edit - I'm appalled by some of these answers. Why should someone not deserve or desire to make money for their work? This mindset makes no sense.
Reply:Probably people who think that religion is not suppose to be a money making business. Does it matter if someone is making money of religion or not?

If I was going to write something religious why would I ask for money? I would rather give it away, or even pay for it to be shipped if I truly felt it was the benefit of humanity to understand such texts.

Many pagans don't hold money in high reguard. Not all, but many.
Reply:We are all depraved creatures lab girl.

I agree with your concept of giving credit to the creator, book or other.
Reply:Some people, unfortunately, don't care. As long as they're getting something for free they don't care if someone else is getting hurt.

As proved above, some people think authors actually like their stuff being pirated, writing it off as "good publicity."

And a lot of people don't know better. Some know that old books can be reproduced for free but don't know how old it actually has to be. I think it doesn't even occur to some people, generally the younger crowd. They come across something cool and their first thought is "This is neat. Everyone should see this!" Especially if they found it on the Internet themselves. If it's on the Internet, it must be ok to keep it on the Internet, right?
Reply:A common thief, about half of which are Christian.
Reply:I think they probably trust that the authors will prosper. No idea is knew I never ask people for money to read what I write but I am always well taken care of, so I think you have to ask the people who are doing this to get the real answer.
Reply:Westboro Baptist or anyone like them...
Reply:Christians
Reply:Umm, I would say the author would probably be pissed. I do know some that don't mind so much if their work is shared but they do prefer to get paid for their work. I know others that would be really pissed to find out.

You know what's so bad is that some authors don't make much because they aren't marketing themselves or maybe I should say whoring themselves to the masses. Personally I'd tell the person that sent it to me that they were in violation of copyright laws. Maybe explain that these authors aren't rich.
Reply:I would think the authors themselves would want their work so widely available. Isn't that the point of publishing such a book?
Reply:who does this?

links to other websites are used as source references
Reply:just goes to show that pagans have no morals- so take that
